Tseminyu district has a rudimentary economy with no industry or major economic activities. Agriculture, government services and small-time private businesses constitute the notable economic activities. As of date, there are 27 government offices, including 3 central offices and 3 public sector banks, functioning in the district. Since the creation of Tseminyu as a full-fledged district, the upgradation of existing sub divisional offices and the introduction of other government offices in the district has been under active process. With regard to paramilitary force, a company post of Assam Rifles (45 Unit) is located in Tseminyu.
